Journaling and reading about the history of slavery in New Orleans.
It’s a joke that a few are trying to recreate a different version of history… Anyways, New Orleans was the hub for domestic slave trading back in the day. Selling slaves was a very profitable venture. I guess so, given how this still rings true today with sex slavery. Did you know that more than 100k US children are estimated to be victims every year? Ugh.
Anyways again, it blows my mind that the land I’m standing on, all the streets I’m walking through and many of the older buildings I’m seeing, were all probably built by slave labor and/or with money profited from the slave trade.
